ESH Practical Intensive Course on Arterial Hypertension and Cardiovascular Risk was held on October 18-19, 2024 in Samarkand, in the conference hall of Hilton Samarkand Regency Hotel. The course was organized by the European Society of Hypertension (ESH) with the support of Gedeon Richter and the Organizing Committee ‒ AIM Group International. At the opening of the course Professor Emeritus of Milan University - Bicocca Giuseppe Mancia (Prof. Giuseppe Mancia) (Milan, Italy) and Chief Cardiologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Director of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Cardiology H.G. Fozilov delivered their welcoming remarks on behalf of the ESH. The head of the Gedeon Richter representative office in Uzbekistan Kh. D. Akhrarov welcomed participants of the Course on behalf of the host country, and Bettina Forgacs welcomed participants of the Course on behalf of the Gedeon Richter (Budapest, Hungary). The Head of the International Medical and Cardiometabolic Center at the St. Imre Teaching Hospital Prof. Csaba Farsang (Budapest, Hungary) presented about a brief history of the ESH Master Course.
The report “Why was it necessary to publish the new hypertension guidelines” was delivered by the Professor Giuseppe Mancia (Italy).
The report “Actual tasks of the cardiology service to reduce cardiovascular mortality in Uzbekistan” was delivered by the Chief Cardiologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Director of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Cardiology H.G. Fozilov (Uzbekistan).

The report “Effective hypertension management with ACE inhibitors and their combination” was delivered by the Dr. G.J. Abdullaeva (Uzbekistan).
The report “Stroke prevention with DOAC: patients with AF and HT” was delivered by the Dr. Dalibor Dragišić (Serbia).
The report “News in cardiovascular prevention: role of DOACs – New ESC Guidelines 2024-Atrial fibrillation” was delivered by the Professor Zoltán Járai (Hungary).
The report “Prevention of Thromboembolic Complications in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation: The role of DOAC” was delivered by the Academician R.D. Kurbanov (Uzbekistan).
The report “DOACs in Special Populations: Diabetes, Hypertension, CKD” was delivered by the Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Hypertension Department at the RSNPMCC G.A. Khamidullaeva (Uzbekistan).
The report “Diabetes, Hypertension, and Hyperlipidaemia: Clinical Insights and Vascular Mechanisms” was delivered by the Professor Krzysztof Narkiewicz (Poland).
The report “Therapeutic solutions for the life threatening cardiometabolic triangle: emphasis on new drugs” was delivered by the Professor Peter Nilsson (Sweden).
The report “Emerging role of fix combinations” was delivered by the Professor Csaba Farsang (Hungary).
This event gave the participants an opportunity to meet with leading specialists of the European Society of Arterial Hypertension and discuss new recommendations and their application in practice.
